We recently got a chance to catch up with Kelli Delaney, designer of the hottest brand in Hollywood, Members Only. Kelli gave us a brief Members Only bio, advice on how to wear the latest collection, filled us in on her celebrity following and gave us the latest Members Only dish, including a news on secret capsule collection for spring 2009.

Members Only was “THE hottest brand in the 80’s” exclaimed Delaney. It was a devoted man brand that gave guys the freshest jackets the decade ever saw. But, like many fashion icons, the brand sputtered to a stop in the ‘heroin chic/grunge’ 90’s.

Meanwhile Delaney was hard at work. For fourteen years she was a top editor at notable fashion magazines and learned a hell of a lot before diving back into the MO brand. “We really listened to what they [readers] loved the most, and gave them more. “

Delaney continued to listen to what women wanted and when MO came knocking on her door she gathered what she knew and ran with it. “All of those [editing] experiences have become part of my collection. I design clothing that I know Hollywood’s style stars will want to wear, as well as all my girlfriends! Members Only was really known as a men’s line, so the unexpected surprise was that we re-launched with a women’s collection first.”

For Members Only And what a re-launch it was! Nearly every Hollywood “It” girl – from Mariah Carey to Miley Cyrus – have been sporting the lines liquid leggings and bad ass bombers. Although we aren’t exactly Hollywood royalty, we inquired about the things all fashionistas might need from MO. Delaney obliged and filled us in on the essentials.

“EVERY fashionable girl needs our Classic Bomber Jacket in Italian lambskin, a pair of our Liquid Leggings, and different colors of our Stretch Velvet Leggings!! Also, throw in some gutsy glam with our Asymmetric Zip biker jacket, one of Fergie’s favs!! These are the key pieces you need to build your wardrobe around.”

She claims the best way to wear these must haves is the juxtaposing mix of masculine and feminine that we’ve seen traipsing the runways for several seasons now. “Mix hard and soft looks together. If you are rocking our biker jacket and legging look, keep your accessories pretty and girly. Go for a bold colored bag or animal print, and a chic pump to offset the edgy look. Also, when you wear black leather avoid going too heavy on smoky eyeliner, a little liquid cat eye is the way to go. Rihanna wears our Liquid Leggings all the time, and mixes up her look from day to night in the chicest way.”

So we know how we should pair our MO treasures and how Hollywood rocks theirs but what about the designer du jour? “Personally, I love wearing my Liquid Leggings with longer cashmere cardigan sweaters or oversize, off the shoulder tees and my new Louboutin boots! Our berry bomber jacket with black knit trim paired with our black velvet leggings is the perfect cool outfit for a hot date this fall!”

So if you’re anything like we are, you are already completely infatuated and have high-tailed it to Nordstrom or the Members Only Style website to check out the goods. But the obsession won’t stop at jackets, leggings and hot dresses. Oh no, friend. MO has plenty to come that will leave you drooling for more.

“I am so excited to be launching a fierce Members Only handbag line with CC SKYE! Her Beverly-Hills-Diva meets Rocker Chic aesthetic is really what drew me to her style. Our bags will hit exclusive stores this spring, and will be the perfect accessory for our line. They come in luxe leathers and nylons, have gorgeous gold hardware, and will definitely be a hit with our celebrity following.

“We will also be launching MEMBERS ONLY Denim this spring. We have a variety of super lightweight stretch denims that are called Pull-On/Peel-Off Jeans, as well as some tricked out styles with rips, quilting, leather trim and more. Every jean will be unique and recognizable- just like our MEMBERS ONLY girl!!!” Pull-on/peel-off jeans? We are dying inside!

Before we let her go, we pried Delaney to spill one more secret. She exclusively filled StyleList in on a hush-hush capsule collection she’s working on for spring with one of her favorite painters, Jane Gang. According to Delaney, “[Jane] is so brilliantly talented, and I can’t wait to share our collaboration with my Members….stay tuned!” Oh trust us Kelli Delaney, we wouldn’t change the channel for anything!

I became the designer of MEMBERS ONLY nine months ago, and it has been a whirlwind ride! Before landing this amazingly cool job, I was an editor at lots of magazines for 14 years- including Allure, Glamour, Us Weekly and Celebrity Living, which I launched. Switching gears to become a designer has been the BEST experience; lots of hard work, but I am used to that. I have always known how to buy beautiful clothes, but now I know how to make them!

In my blog, I will share with you all of the exciting scoop that is happening with our brand: Who is wearing what, when, and where? How to get the look of your favorite stars? What’s the best way to wear MO for your body type? How to plan your fall wardrobe with 10 key pieces…all kinds of cool stuff! I will answer all of your questions here, as well as share some fun insider style secrets and stories from our chic showroom here in NYC!

Right now, I am typing this on a plane on my way back from LA, where I was meeting with our denim factory. My first denim collection for MEMBERS ONLY will hit stores in Spring ’09. I can’t wait for you to see them….super- skinny, super- tight, and super –sexy….sooo MO!

As I was reading Us Weekly (one of the 6 celeb mags I brought on my flight!), I saw a photo of Lauren Conrad wearing our Liquid Leggings to the launch of her clothing line at Bloomingdales. How cute does she look?? I also spotted Vanessa Hudgens rocking them for her first concert performance, on August 2, in Georgia ! Seeing the stars in my clothes is so amazing, but the coolest thing is that the leggings only cost $88! So everyone can afford a little Liquid from MO!
